Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ (CH951): problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-05

Summary

The CH951 is a cordless bagless handheld vacuum for crumbs, dust and pet hair in a car, on upholstery and on small carpeted areas, with three tools in the box and a two-year limited warranty. The binding limit is runtime: about 10 to 15 minutes a charge behind a built-in, non-swappable battery, with a recharge reported between about three and six hours. Pet-hair pickup is contested and the included motorized brush glides over car mats, so it is a good buy below $75 for spot cleaning and weak above $90.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

Low and mostly optional. There are no bags and no cleaning fluids, and electricity use is trivial beyond the 80 W rating. If you follow the manual’s advice to replace the dust cup filter every 6 to 9 months at $11.99 each, that is roughly $12 to $24 a year; the dust cup and filters otherwise wash out under a tap. [1][5]

When it is a good buy

Shark’s own store page showed $69.99 against a $99.99 reference in October 2026, Best Buy showed the same $69.99, a Walmart listing showed $54.95, and Target and Lowe’s listed $99.99. [1][2][8] Bands: at $54.95 to $60 it is straightforwardly good; $61 to $75 is still good and where it sits most of the time on sale; $76 to $90 is fair with no extra performance; $91 to $100 is weak to fair; above $100 it is poor value because the runtime and agitation limits are not fixed by spending more.
