Summary

A premium 11-inch Android tablet with a bright OLED display, strong Dimensity 9400+ performance, and an included S Pen. Check the price before you buy — Samsung lists it at $1,099.99, and it only makes sense on sale or with a trade-in.

Display and performance

The 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is the Tab S11’s standout feature. It measures 2560 × 1600 at 120Hz with HDR10+ and 1,600 nits peak brightness. Notebookcheck measured 955 nits max in SDR and 1,648 nits in HDR, with 99.5% sRGB coverage and DeltaE 3.5 on ColorChecker. Response times are very fast at 1.49ms. The 16:10 aspect ratio suits media consumption.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ is a capable chip. PCMag measured Geekbench 6 scores of 2,778 single-core and 8,970 multi-core, with PCMark Work 3.0 at 19,461. CNET’s scores were similar: 2,763 single-core, 8,762 multi-core. However, Notebookcheck noted high throttling under load, and CNET observed the OnePlus Pad 3 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) scoring slightly higher at 3,077/9,022. The Dimensity runs cooler and more power-efficient, which suits the slim form factor.

Battery life and charging

Battery life depends heavily on test conditions. PCMag measured 9h 25min in a maximum-brightness video rundown. CNET measured 11h 35min at 50% brightness streaming YouTube. Wirecutter reported close to 12 hours of browsing and streaming. Notebookcheck called battery life “only decent.” Owners report generally positive battery life for daily use.

Charging is 45W wired via USB-C. PCMag measured 27% in 15 minutes, 50% in 30 minutes, and 100% in 1h 30min with a compatible charger. No charger is included in the box. Wirecutter noted it takes about 3 hours to fully charge with a 65W adapter.

S Pen and software

The redesigned S Pen has a hexagonal grip and cone-shaped tip. It attaches magnetically to the frame, not the back as on previous models. It draws power from the screen and needs no charging. The S Pen covers the microSD card tray when attached.

The Tab S11 runs Android 16 with One UI 8.0. DeX mode supports Extend Mode for dual-screen setups with an external monitor, though CNET had trouble wirelessly connecting to a Samsung monitor. Samsung promises 7 years of major OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates, with patches likely quarterly rather than monthly.

Is it worth it?

At $1,099.99 from Samsung US, the Tab S11 is expensive. CNET reported $800 at Samsung in October 2025, and PCMag noted a $799.99 starting price for the 256GB model. At under $800 it is a strong value for a premium Android tablet. At full MSRP, the OnePlus Pad 3 at $600 offers comparable performance with an LCD screen, and the Tab S10 FE at $385 is a more budget-friendly Android option. The Tab S11’s advantages — OLED display, included S Pen, IP68, DeX, 7-year updates — must justify the premium. Samsung trade-in offers, such as $450 for a Tab S8 Plus, can reduce the effective cost.
