Hot-swap and switches
Hot-swap sockets are the whole point of this board. Owners report swapping in Gateron Yellows, Kailh Box Reds and other 3-pin and 5-pin switches without soldering, and the box includes switch and keycap pullers plus four spare Red switches. Replacement switches run about $5-20 for a set of 108 depending on brand. The trade-off is that some owners describe the stock Red switches as prone to breaking, so swapping is less a luxury here than insurance. The board is wired only, and the detachable USB-C to USB-A cable is the one connection it offers.
Software and hotkeys
Configuration runs through Redragon’s Windows-only software for macros, remapping and custom lighting; there is no Linux, VIA or QMK option. The four hotkeys can only be reprogrammed in software, not on the board, and one RedFlagDeals owner returned the keyboard for that reason. Redragon’s own community post documents the software leaving keyboards unresponsive, with reinstallation, firmware updates and different USB ports as the fixes. Treat the software as the weakest part of the package.
Price and value
Redragonshop lists the K668 at $49.99 direct. A YouTube reviewer bought it for $55 and noted a $35 sale price, and a March 2024 RedFlagDeals deal put it at $71.99 CAD (about $53 USD). At $40 or below it is strong value, $41-55 stays good, and above roughly $60 the advantage narrows against boards with PBT keycaps, better software or wireless. Redragon backs new purchases from its own shop with a two-year warranty, and its support gets generally positive mentions for quick replacements, though some customers report trouble reaching a human.
Which model this is
This page covers the Redragon K668, also marketed as the TRUNDLE K668. The US layout is the primary variant; the manufacturer also lists a separate French layout page, and the same board ships in white, black and orange. Don’t merge it with the K671, K618 or K552, which share some features but differ in layout.
The Amazon listing is ASIN B0CDWP1D58.
