Summary
A lightweight wireless gaming headset with a detachable mic and three ways to connect, pitched at buyers who want long battery life without a premium price. Independent testing is essentially nonexistent, so sound, mic and durability rest on Razer’s own claims.
Strengths
- At 270 g it is light for a wireless gaming headset.
- Razer rates battery life at up to 70 hours, above average for the class.
- Three connection modes cover PC, console and mobile.
- The detachable 9.9 mm mic is designed to be replaced by the user.
- SmartSwitch toggles between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth with one tap.
Weaknesses
- No established outlet has published an instrumented review of this exact model.
- There is no meaningful owner feedback yet; the product is too new.
- Razer publishes no frequency response, impedance, sensitivity, ear-cup material, cable length or dimensions.
- 7.1 Surround Sound needs Razer Synapse on Windows and does not work on console or mobile.
- SmartSwitch cannot run 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth audio at the same time.
- Sound quality, mic quality, durability and the 70-hour battery figure are all unverified by third parties.

What Razer doesn’t publish
Razer’s product page stops at marketing-level specs. It gives drivers, weight, battery and connectivity but omits frequency response, impedance, sensitivity, ear cushion material, cable length and dimensions. It also does not list what comes in the box, such as whether a carrying pouch, USB-C cable or USB-A adapter is included. Until someone measures the headset, there is no way to check the sound against the claim.
No independent testing
As of 2026-10-10 no instrumented review of this exact model turned up from RTINGS, Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET, PCMag, TechRadar, SoundGuys, IGN, GamesRadar, DigitalTrends or Windows Central. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 gaming headset roundup does not include it. That is unusual even for a new release, and it means the usual cross-checks on frequency response, mic performance and build quality are simply not available. Buyers who want verified numbers should look at headsets that have been measured.
Is it worth it?
At the $99.99 manufacturer price the pitch is low weight, long claimed battery life and triple connectivity in the budget wireless segment. Without independent tests those remain Razer’s assertions, so the headset suits buyers who trust the BlackShark line and want the light, long-running, multi-platform package. Anyone who needs proof of sound or mic quality should wait for measured reviews.
Which model this is
This page covers the Razer BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed, the wireless variant of the BlackShark V3 X line, in Black. It is not the BlackShark V3 Pro, which uses different drivers and a broadcast-quality mic, and not the wired-only BlackShark V3. The Amazon listing for this model is ASIN B0FH5YWH7B.
