Summary
A budget 456-sq-in pellet smoker with a PID controller, an 11-lb hopper and a 180-425°F range. It is built for set-and-forget smoking, but its model revisions are muddled and the warranty terms are unresolved.
Strengths
- PID control with a claimed ±15°F across a 180-425°F range.
- 456 sq in of cooking space at a budget price.
- Family feedback praises easy assembly and beginner-friendly set-and-forget smoking.
- Stable temperatures and good ribs, pork and poultry in family reviews.
- Replacement 456-series igniters and warming racks are sold, which aids repair.
Weaknesses
- Direct-flame searing is unproven; a sear function does not guarantee an open flame.
- No verified Wi-Fi or app control.
- Model identity is muddled: the ASIN maps to one part number while related pages use another.
- The warranty is unresolved: policy pages say three years but a product banner says one.
- Startup documentation is criticised, and isolated error-code and controller failures are reported.
- The 456 name spans multiple revisions, so family reviews mix hardware.
Verified specifications

| Temperature range | 180-425°F on the exact page. |

| Fuel | hardwood pellets with an electric auger, ignition and fan. |
| Dimensions | 18.5 × 39 × 35 in on the matching black listing. |

Temperature and control
Exact-page evidence supports a PID controller, a claimed accuracy of ±15°F and a range of 180-425°F with an 11-lb hopper. Family-level verified owners report 345°F at a 350°F setting and 470°F on High, and another reports roughly 225°F ±5°F for 10 hours at 40°F ambient. Those are family measurements, not exact-ASIN results. Treat the 425°F maximum as the exact-page figure; sibling and database pages quote other numbers.
Revision mix and warranty
The KingChii 456 spans several revisions, and the review pools mix them. The exact ASIN is a black side-shelf unit, while current pages expose the part numbers GP032204B-WRGC and HWPG 456D-WR. Warranty terms disagree: KingChii policy and a retailer say three years limited, while a manufacturer product banner says one year with US support. Get written confirmation of the SKU and warranty before you buy.
Maintenance and parts
Clean the ash, clear grease paths, keep pellets dry and always run the shutdown cycle before switching off or unplugging. Repairability is better than the price suggests: a 120V/200W igniter fits the HWPG 456A/B/C/D/E units, and a porcelain warming rack fits the 456A/B/C/D models. Availability of the exact controller, auger and fan is unknown, and no cover or probe should be assumed, since one retailer says the cover is not included.
Is it worth it?
Buy it on sale. Around the lower part of its common price band it is sensible budget value for set-and-forget smoking; around the middle it is fair; near the top of the band the support and revision uncertainty weaken the case, and better-supported brands deserve a look then. Check the store panel above for current prices.
Which model this is
This page covers the KingChii 456-sq-in pellet smoker sold under ASIN B0D1VJMXQB, a black side-shelf PID unit. The matching KingChii page uses GP032204B-WRGC, and a closely related current side-shelf page uses HWPG 456D-WR. Do not merge the A, B, C and D revisions, because their specs and reviews differ, and match the exact ASIN before you order.
