Summary

A large 6.8-quart basket air fryer with heating elements above and below the basket, sold on the promise that you can skip shaking and flipping. Check your expectations before buying: independent labs rate the cooking mid-pack even though owners rate it much higher.

Strengths

  • Owners who cook daily name easy cleaning its best feature — wipe the basket and tray and it’s done.
  • The lower element lets owners skip flipping, which they treat as a real convenience.
  • Preheat and cooking are quick, and the wide surface fits a lot of food at once.
  • The nonstick basket and crisper plate are dishwasher-safe.
  • Temperature set-points hold within a few degrees on a lab bench test.
  • A 2-year warranty and 30-day returns back a mid-priced fryer.

Weaknesses

  • Independent tests found uneven results: 65.6% crispy but 25% undercooked in one fry batch.
  • Sweet potato fries and donuts came out undercooked even when cooked longer.
  • Homes & Gardens called it quite noisy and no faster than rival fryers.
  • The crisper plate’s holes let tots and fries drop through when you shake the basket.
  • The display is small and the buttons need a firm press to register.
  • The built-in fry preset runs long for some owners, who finish in about 12 minutes.

Dual heating elements and how it cooks

Cosori’s pitch for the Dual Blaze is the second heating element under the basket: heat from above and below is supposed to cut out shaking and flipping, and owners do value that. The independent labs are less convinced. RTINGS scored it 7.5 out of 10 for air frying, praising the cooking speed and the large surface area but flagging temperature swings during a cook; it thinks powering the bottom element leaves the fan-equipped top element underpowered. Its fry test came out 65.6% crispy, 9.4% overcooked and 25% undercooked. TechGearLab scored it 64 out of 100, with strong temperature accuracy — within a few degrees — but sweet potato fries and donuts that stayed undercooked, and a small, stiff display. Homes & Gardens tested it for weeks and concluded the dual elements “don’t make a tangible difference in the cooking,” though it cooks evenly without turning food as often.

Cleaning and upkeep

Owners keep coming back to how easy the Dual Blaze is to clean: the smooth nonstick interior does not hold grease, and both the basket and the crisper plate go in the dishwasher or wash by hand. The manual says to clean them after every use with a non-abrasive sponge, to lift stubborn grease with a baking-soda paste (2 tbsp baking soda and 1 tbsp water left for 15 minutes), and never to use metal utensils on the coating. It also warns against overfilling the basket — heaping food can touch the heating coils — and caps oil at 2 tbsp (30 mL). Parts come through Cosori Customer Support rather than a printed parts list.

Noise

Reviews disagree on noise. Homes & Gardens called the US unit “quite noisy” and “consistently not the quietest,” while BBC Good Food called the EU variant “quiet during cooking.” Owners describe the fan as noticeable but “not too loud.” Treat it as a moderate hum rather than a silent appliance.

Is it worth it?

Owners report paying about $100 for the 6.8-quart Dual Blaze at Walmart during Black Friday and Christmas sales. At that price it is easy to recommend for a household of four to six that wants a big, flip-free basket. Cosori lists it at $129.00, and Homes & Gardens cited a $179.99 RRP when it published in December 2022. At $129 the value is fair. Near $179.99 it is poor, because independent testers do not show the dual-element design beating cheaper fryers on cooking or speed. Cheap enough at $100, forgettable at full retail.

Which model this is

This page covers the US 120 V CAF-P583S-KUS, UPC 810043375382. The European and UK version is the CAF-P583S-KUK, which runs on 220–240 V at 1700 W — a different machine, so do not compare wattage across the two. The 10 L and Twinfry Compact “Dual Blaze” models are dual-basket fryers, a different design. The 2023 Cosori air-fryer recall covered other models and did not include this one.
