Summary

The Bambu Lab P2S Combo pairs the enclosed P2S CoreXY printer with one AMS 2 Pro unit that adds four-color printing and active-vent filament drying. No independent test or owner evidence was found, so every performance claim here is the manufacturer’s until one is published.

Strengths

  • The enclosure plus a 300 °C hardened-steel hotend covers engineering filaments without an add-on.
  • Active-vent drying is stated to be 30% faster than sealed heating and saves about 10 minutes per 100 filament changes.
  • The hotend releases as a single one-clip assembly, which the manufacturer claims cuts nozzle changes to about 30 seconds.
  • Bambu Lab publishes deep self-repair documentation, including a separately documented AMS drying-unit replacement.
  • Up to four AMS 2 Pro and four AMS HT units can be chained for 20 slots and 20 colors.
  • A 2 TOPS NPU runs computer-vision checks for spaghetti failure, nozzle clumping, purge-chute jams and start conditions.

Weaknesses

  • Despite the “50 °C chamber” headline, the P2S has no active chamber heating and manages chamber temperature passively.
  • Drying more than one AMS 2 Pro at once needs extra official power adapters, and print functions pause during drying.
  • There is no Ethernet, no network kill switch, no removable network module and no 802.1X support.
  • Third-party slicers work only through standard G-code export, and some advanced features may not work.
  • The manufacturer publishes no drying temperature for the AMS 2 Pro.
  • Older XPA-series build plates fit physically but lose plate-type recognition.

Chamber temperature: what “50 °C chamber” means

The product page carries a “50 °C Chamber Ready For Engineering-Grade Filaments” headline, but the official FAQ states the P2S “does not have an active chamber heating function.” The enclosure holds heat passively, and an automatic flap switches between internal and external circulation. Treat the 50 °C figure as an enclosure-capability claim, not a heated-chamber specification.

AMS 2 Pro and filament drying

The AMS 2 Pro brings four-spool multi-color printing and active-vent drying, with an electromagnetic air vent and airtight sealing. The manufacturer states the venting dries filament 30% faster than sealed heating, and that its PMSM feeding motor is 60% faster, saving an average of 10 minutes per 100 filament changes. No drying temperature is published on the pages read.

Drying has operating constraints: with a single AMS 2 Pro on the 6-pin cable the printer can dry while in standby, print functions pause during drying, and drying several units at once requires extra official power adapters. Filament odometry on the spec sheet is listed as supported with the AMS, not standalone.

After-purchase support and repairs

Bambu Lab publishes a wiki with procedures for cleaning, lubrication, tramming, unclogging and belt tensioning, plus per-component replacement guides for the heatbed, glass door, panels, boards, power supply, toolhead board and housing, the extruder servo motor, the eddy sensor, axis motors and belts, idler pulleys, screen, PTFE tubes, air filter, purge wiper and camera. The AMS 2 Pro has the same treatment, including a separately documented drying unit. Published serviceability at this depth is unusual, but it is not evidence of long-term reliability, which was not measured.

US warranty length was not verified: no US warranty page was readable, and the two-year claim visible on the Canadian storefront does not transfer to US purchases. The US store front page states the return window was extended from 14 to 30 days starting August 14 and advertises up to a 6% student discount.

Which model this is

This page covers the P2S Combo: the enclosed P2S printer plus one AMS 2 Pro. Bambu Lab treats “P2S + AMS 2 Pro” as the standard bundle pairing for the drying features. The listing this page covers is ASIN B0FT818HCH, though the exact bundle contents were not confirmed. Do not merge the P2S with the P1S, X1C/X1E, H2D/H2S/H2C or A2/A2L lines, which are separate models with different specs. Nozzles are compatible with H2D units but not A1 nozzles.
